Born into a car family and came out of the womb a car geek. Started participating in open track days in high school with Mustangs and finally bit the bullet and started Club Racing in SCCA for the inauguration of the SM class in 2001. Finished 2nd in the SM championship his first 2 years and then ended his 2004 season as SM Champion, also being named Monte Shelton Regional Driver of the Year by the Oregon Region. Ken has competed in the Mazdaspeed Miata Cup series several times, winning back to back races at Portland in 2004. He qualified for his first SCCA National Runoff event in 2006 where he finished 15th.
